Rhythm & Motion
A Moment, A Love

“A Moment, A Love” is performed by 35 Rhythm & Motion community members: students, faculty, and former faculty. Choreographed by R&M Director Dudley Flores, the piece is set on the lawn in homage to Consuelo and her belief that dance should be everywhere, not only on stages. It also reflects our shared belief that dance should be for everyone - close enough to feel the rhythm and inviting enough to pull you in. Drawing on movement phrases and vocabulary from the Rhythm & Motion choreography library, this piece is dedicated to every person who has ever stepped into a Rhythm & Motion class, whether decades ago or just this morning… and to everyone still waiting for their first moment to dance.

Founded in 1979 by Consuelo Faust, Rhythm & Motion is a San Francisco-based dance program rooted in the belief that the art and ritual of dance belong to all of us—anyone can dance. Through its signature dance workout classes, partnerships and collaborations, and free outdoor community classes, Rhythm & Motion brings the joy, intensity, and artistry of dance to people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Guided by a deep respect for the art and cultural traditions of dance, and a commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, connection, and joy, Rhythm & Motion aspires to build community through the power of dance. Currently under the direction of Dudley Flores, and working alongside a roster of 28 instructors, R&M proudly carries forward Consuelo's vision of making dance a welcoming, joyful, and transformative experience for everyone.
