DANCE DAY 2025 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need to RSVP? We are so excited you can join us! Class is free and registration is not required but is appreciated. If you can join us for any part of the day, please register for free via Eventbrite.

Do I need dance experience? No dance experience required. We curate a roster of instructors who are known for creating a fun and welcoming learning environment for everyone. All we ask is that you bring your curiosity for learning dance and/or a new dance style and some good vibes to the experience.

What should I bring? Since we’re dancing outdoors, we highly recommend wearing comfortable shoes and a water bottle. Sunscreen is always good to have handy as is a snack or money to grab a bite or beverage from a nearby business.

Are there lockers? There are no lockers or changing areas available for use. We encourage you to bring very few belongings and keep watch over them while you dance. Event staff will be at each class site, but Rhythm & Motion and Yerba Buena Gardens Festival are not responsible for looking over everyone’s belonging or for lost or stolen items.

Exactly when and where will we meet? Classes will take place at the Great Lawn, East Plaza or Crepe Myrtle Garden within the Yerba Buena Gardens (see map below), Mission Street between 3rd and 4th Streets, in the heart of downtown San Francisco. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to find your class and get situated.

Are there bathrooms and water fountains? Restrooms and water fountains annd refill stations are available adjacent to Great Lawn and in the nearby Metreon.

What if we have wet weather? If it rains or if the dance space is wet, for everyone's safety, we will cancel the event.

Where can I park my car or bike? There is metered parking along 3rd & Folsom streets and the two nearest parking garages are the 5th & Mission Garage and the Moscone Center Garage. If you’re riding your bike, you are welcome to park your bike at a nearby bike rack near Yerba Buena Gardens entrances.

Why is my class free? Yerba Buena Gardens Festival is committed to providing free arts and cultural programs to the community, and we are all so grateful for their efforts in supporting arts and culture in San Francisco. Please consider making a donation to the Festival so that free programs, like this one, can continue to thrive. ybgfestival.org/donate/
