Rhythm & Motion is seeking experienced and professional dancers to audition and train to be instructors in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Rhythm & Motion (R&M for short) isn’t your average dance-inspired workout class. It’s a high-energy dance class that incorporates the music, movement, skills and techniques of dance forms from all over the globe and places them in a fast-paced, informative, welcoming and sweaty dance workout experience. All instructors are experienced dancers and choreographers, many of whom have been with the Program for decades.

Classes are currently offered at the ODC Dance Commons, Alonzo King LINES Dance Center in San Francisco, Motion Pacific in Santa Cruz and the School of Richmond Ballet in Richmond, VA.

Interested in auditioning? Here are a few things we’re looking for:

  • At least 5-years of dance experience in any dance style(s)
  • Diverse training / background
  • Clear and punctuated movement
  • Strong sense of musicality and rhythm
  • Enjoys full-out dancing
  • Familiar with the Rhythm & Motion Program
  • A desire to teach movement to beginners and professionals alike
  • A desire to learn about and articulate different movement styles
  • Team spirit
  • Flexible schedule

Those accepted into the Rhythm & Motion teacher-training program will undergo intensive training over 4 weekends starting August 12 with Artistic Director Dudley Flores. Audition is free; training cost is $200. Flexible payment plans available.
