WHAT IS RHYTHM & MOTION?

Rhythm & Motion Dance Workout classes (R&M for short) incorporate the music, movement, skills and techniques of dance from all over the globe and places them in a fun, fast-paced, welcoming and sweaty dance workout experience. Through these classes, we create positive vibes, build community, and introduce people to the world of dance through the lenses of both the instructor and Rhythm & Motion’s 40-year legacy.

Learn more about us:

  • Take a glimpse of our classes and listen to students and teachers share their experience.

  • Read more about our instructors and choreography.

  • Experience class in person at any of our Bay Area classes.

TEACHER TRAINING

After the audition, and if accepted into the R&M Teacher Training Program, dancers undergo intensive training to build the skills required to be a certified Rhythm & Motion class instructor.  Dancers who are new to teaching will learn how to organize knowledge intrinsic to their body and effectively articulate it to a mixed level dance class. Experienced dance teachers will refine and develop an even stronger skill set for teaching dance classes. Additionally, through training you will receive:

  • Individualized attention and mentorship to help amplify your unique teaching voice

  • Effective teaching techniques that emphasize accessibility and inclusion

  • Access to our extensive library of music and choreography

  • Support from a dedicated, vibrant community of like-minded dance artists and teachers

  • Ongoing teaching, administrative and marketing support after you graduate

The 2019 training will take place over four weekends, August 3-25 – Saturdays and Sundays, 11:30am-2:30pm, followed by a period of mentored independent study and wrapping up with a final class showing.

Training Cost: $250. Flexible payment plans available.
