Fiona MacLean, Santa Cruz

Fiona has been dancing, climbing, and generally bouncing off the walls since childhood. Her energy first found focus in gymnastics and by the time she was 13 years old she had found dance. Her high school company centered around jazz, lyrical, and ballet. At Connecticut College she was quickly introduced to the mothership of modern, Martha Graham's works. There, she fell in love with dance even more deeply—with the studio, the culture, and the people. Her four years at Conn revolved around modern, ballet, and performance. Now, almost ten years later she's fallen in love with a new dance community, Rhythm & Motion. Fiona revels in the joyful classes; the camaraderie and kindness; and the chance to get funky, get down, and move.
