Our classic Rhythm & Motion workout fuses dance styles and eclectic music to create an invigorating, physically challenging and fun experience. Every Fusion Rhythms class follows the same structure. Class begins with choreography to wake up the body, focusing on specific muscle groups. This thorough warm-up is followed by high energy choreography designed to increase stamina and strength. Class continues on the floor with abdominal strengthening as well as leg work to improve flexibility and muscular development. Each class ends with strethcing and relaxation. Fusion Rhythms is a class full of groove!
Modern Rhythms offers our students a more lyrical approach to dance workout. Drawing on contemporary dance and set to music that crosses borders, Modern Rhythms is a fun, creative, and accessible dance workout. Each class begins with a standing warm-up which moves to the floor for strengthening abdominals and legs. Returning to standing, the tempo increases and class culminates with high energy choreography and arm work. Modern Rhyhtms is a workout that makes you feel like you’re flying!
Essential Rhythms and Essential Modern Rhythms are the 101 courses of Rhythm & Motion popular with beginning and seasoned students alike. The Essentials classes offer a focus on learning R&M choreography (routines) and understanding the fundamentals of dance technique. Each serves as an introductory class for new students and also offers another way for ongoing students to deepen their Rhythm & Motion workout experience. But don’t be put off by the “essentials” nature, because these classes still offer a sweat inducing and uplifting workout!
With a focus on stretching and proper alignment, Yoga Rhythms combines the principles of yoga and dance to create a unique and inspiring one-hour class designing to meet the specific needs of the dancer's body. Pairing fundamental Iyengar Yoga postures with music centers, invigorates, and restores the body in a safe and gentle way. This class focuses on alignment, prevention of and relief from injuries, and opening up all of those tight, stuck places of tension we all acquire through our lives. Students are encouraged to take Yoga Rhythms as a warm-up for other dance classes or as a "stand alone" class. Soothing and restorative, Yoga Rhythms is a great way to start your day!
